The Authority operates under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, and undertakes development activities in accordance with the Firozabad-Shikohabad Master Plan 2031, which provides a planned framework for future urban growth and efficient land use. Over the years, the FSDA development area has been expanded to include additional urban and rural areas, including regions around Tundla and Sirsa Ganj, covering a total of 119 additional villages.प्राधिकरण उत्तर प्रदेश नगर नियोजन एवं विकास अधिनियम, 1973 के अंतर्गत कार्य करता है तथा फिरोजाबाद-शिकोहाबाद महायोजना 2031 के अनुरूप विकास कार्यों को संचालित करता है। यह महायोजना भविष्य के शहरी विकास एवं भूमि के कुशल उपयोग के लिए एक सुनियोजित रूपरेखा प्रदान करती है। समय के साथ, FSDA के विकास क्षेत्र का विस्तार किया गया है, जिसमें टूण्डला एवं सिरसागंज के आसपास के अतिरिक्त शहरी एवं ग्रामीण क्षेत्र भी शामिल किए गए हैं तथा कुल 119 अतिरिक्त ग्रामों को विकास क्षेत्र में सम्मिलित किया गया है।
